now panic and freak out print

Artist Olly Moss has created a great parody of the iconic “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster which I had to have. I have no idea where I’m going to place all these prints/posters – but I will one day – and it will be glorious. Thanks Soph for letting me wield your credit card. No thanks threadless for not accepting paypal.

Top Ten Moments Of 2008

Drunkenly singing along to Weezers “Buddy Holly” at Pony with Abdulla and some random guy we met there at what must have been close to three in the morning.

Going to Charlie’s beach house with Abdulla and Kirra. Lunch at the Portsea Hotel. The ruthless drunken game of Monopoly and the messy drinking game that followed. The Red Hill Market. Kirra randomly proclaiming in the middle of the day that she “feels like getting drunk”. Drinking a bottle of wine with Kirra in the car on the way home. The delicious pizza we ate when we arrived.

(Okay this one is a little sad) – Seeing Iron Man (even the time I slept through most of it). Also, Nick Fury: “I am Iron Man.” You think you’re the only superhero in the world? Mr Stark you’ve become part of a bigger universe, you just don’t know it yet I’m here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative. Mind Blown.

Friday nights with Justin, Soph, Kirra, Cam. Though not a single moment as such, those nights were often similar, and form a singular (often hazy) memory in my mind.

Big Day Out. Notably the end, watching Bjork sing as the sun set over Flemington Racecource.

My trip to the nurse.

The Shine Dinner and all the drama prior to and post said event. Running around frantically for an outfit, arriving late and somehow winning an award (and genuinely not expecting it) all while a certain blonde bathed me in attention (while somehow maintaining the lie that I was chasing her). Somehow surviving the trip back into the city. Drinking at Cherry Bar (for the last time).

Getting to meet the Pure Pwnage cast at the episode 203 premiere at the Astor Theatre.

Mak, the second night we didn’t find ice-cream.

Cut Off Your Fucking Hands. Expecting mediocrity and recieving energetic greatness.

It’s been a great year. I’m so grateful for so much that has happened. I met so many cool new people, some who were under my nose the entire time. You know who you are. Thanks guys, my year was a lot less painful, boring, meaningless etc because of you. I hope our friendships, however minimal they may seem, continue for years to come.

As for the rest of you, you’re appreciated as always, and im not taking any of you for granted. As insane as i can be sometimes, i like to think that it’s you, and the people i continue to meet, that keep me from going completely batshit insane.

Thanks.

The Vader Project

The Vader Project – an exhibition where artists create their magic on the iconic helmet of Darth Vader is currently visiting Japan. Some of the results are simply amazing, if not deliciously bizarre. The official website unfortunately is fairly underwhelming, but numerous photos can be found by searching for “the vader project” via flickr. Here are a few of my favs.
